The luxury 5* Villa Magna hotel is situated in the centre of the Spanish capital, in the heart of the poshest area called the Salamanca district. This is the cleanest and nicest area in centre of Madrid with all the best shops and the best restaurants (I will write about those in my later posts).
Villa Magna hotel Location
Just few steps from the luxurious boutiques like Chanel, Louis Vuitton or Hermes, you will not be disappointed. You can walk everywhere very easily, including to some of the tourist attractions, like the Prado or Thyssen Museums (around 30 min walk). Straight on the doorstep of the back entrance you will find the big department store El Corte Ingles (comes in handy when you forget something). It has everything from supermarket, deli corner and pharmacy to designer clothing and accessories. The Salamanca district is the most stylish area in Madrid and definitely my favourite.
Design
The hotel went through a massive renovation on 2007 and it shows. The design is modern and very luxurious, quite flashy but very tasteful and definitely not vulgar. Three different terraces on the ground floor and spacious areas inside for having a nice cup of coffee makes this quite a special space.
The Villa Magna Hotel has 150 rooms with 4 categories of rooms (starting at a generous 30 sq m) and 6 categories for suites. The Real Suite, the biggest in the hotel, has a whooping 290 sq.m.
Villa Magna Food
There are two restaurants and in both, the food is great. One is the main, Villa Magna restaurant. It offers a real culinary experience with the emphasis on the best local ingredients. The second one, Tse Yang is the best Chinese restaurant you will find in Madrid. You can have breakfast in the main restaurant which also has a terrace. Of course, you can also have it in the beautiful lounge area close by or in your room. The breakfast is a buffet with a possibility of ordering hot things as well. The food is incredibly fresh and even the buffet has only the best of the best. The best Spanish ham, best pastries that melt in your mouth and fruit so fresh and ripe you just want to eat more.
Generally I am not a huge fan of room service. However here, I know I don’t need to worry. The food is genuinely good. You can be confident that whatever you will choose will be as good as in the restaurant.
Spa
I should also mention the spa by Kiara Kare. Stylish changing rooms, attentive staff and great selection of the treatments will make your stay even more relaxing. Frette bath robes are adding to the luxury experience.
Villa Magna hotel service
The service is always immaculate. I have been coming to this hotel regularly for the past 8 years and not once had I less than perfect service. That applies to everywhere in the hotel. The staff at the reception, concierge, staff at the restaurants, housekeeping or spa. Always extremely attentive and trying their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Over all, I think this is probably one of the best (if not the best) hotel in Spain and definitely the best in Madrid. Be it for a business trip or holidays, I would recommend it to everyone who looks for the perfect city hotel. And if you travel with kids, don’t worry. The Villa Magna Hotel has everything you might need.

have a lovely day
