Round bag. When elegance beats the practicality.

I love when there is a new trend. New handbag design that one brand starts, and everyone suddenly follow. This year is in the name of a round bag (or a circle bag). Whatever you want to call them. Round bag is a trend definitely worth talking about. Chloe, Mansur Gavriel, Aspinal of London, Louis Vuitton (currently only possible to buy in store) or Nico Giani are just few of the names following this wonderful trend. I think it was about time to come up with a new shape. Something, that feels like a gust of a fresh air in a luxury handbags department. Well it is not completely new, to be fair. Of course there is a resemblance to the luxury luggage sets specifically made for hats in the past by Louis Vuitton.

When this round bag trend started, I was thinking that it is not very practical shape. Most of the things we put in our handbags are of a rectangular shape. But in the other hand, when practicality was a main concern when it comes to fashion? Also, majority of round bags have, believe it or not, enough space for your phone and wallet. So with this thinking, practicality issue went straight out of the window. What I love most about it though is that a round bag looks seriously girly. They are super cute and make every outfit very feminine. Last week I was wearing my Nico Giani round bag here with wrap dress. But even if you go to the office in your perfectly tailored trousers suit, round bag will give you much softer chic look. Don’t you think?
