London Fashion Week Festival Day 1

Designer tote bags – Bag Vibes

London Fashion Week festival day 1. Going to any event can be a bit stressful. You are thinking days before what on Earth you will put on? Sometimes you even buy something new because (obviously) you have absolutely nothing suitable. So when you go to a fashion event, the stress levels can get out of control.

I honestly don’t know how other people pack for this as I end up having 30kg (at least) suitcase. Even though I planned carefully what I want to wear each day, I packed some extra pieces (you know, just in case). Also in February, UK weather can be brutal. Cold, windy and rainy. I know that fashion is above any weather conditions, but frankly I am not 20 anymore and I just don’t want to be freezing.

On Thursday I saw 2 catwalks shows. Avenue 32 was amazing. The selection of the designers was spot on and the best thing is that you could see how you can combine different designers together. So the styling bit is done for you, you just need to go and buy the whole look. It was all about current trends and my favourite was “off shoulder”. It just looks amazing and flatters basically everyone (note to myself: buy more off the shoulder stuff…).

The designer show of the day was Osman Yousefzada. British and super talented designer. He made his debut in 2008 London Fashion Week, but already caught eyes of many celebrities, like Beyonce or Katy Perry. His designs are all about structure, elegance and femininity. My favourite pieces were a mini black plain dress with long transparent sleeve and a suit with cropped trousers and bold floral print (if you want to see the whole collection, go to my Instagram @bagvibe 🙂 ).

Apart of that I attended an industry talk with Anya Hindmarch. As my obsessions are handbags, so you can imagine how much I enjoyed listening to this amazing designer and her journey to success. The second talk was with the girls from Like to Know it and their 4 wonderful hosts (all stars influencers). It was inspiring discussion and was great to hear that even big stars on Instagram started small.

Well back to my selection of clothes. For the occasion of the day I chose to wear one of the Osman’s designs. It was a black shirt with pearls buttons, bow and balloon sleeves (btw almost no wrinkles on the sleeves by the end of the day J ). I wore it with checked cropped trousers from Topshop, Claudie Pierlot belt and Sergio Rossi ankle boots. We took the pictures the same day in the morning and the wind was so strong I am beyond amazed that we managed to get few pictures without my hair flying all over the place. The coat I was wearing I bought when I was pregnant. It doesn’t have buttons so I could adjust the belt with the growing bump.

Bag of the day was my Hermes Birkin. The size is 35 with Togo leather and gold hardware. My husband bought it for me last Christmas. I was in tears only when I saw the size of the box. I didn’t have an idea what is inside, but you what they say – “anything that comes in THAT orange box is more than “good news”. When I opened the box, I was so emotional and couldn’t believe it for days after.

I thought it was quite simple but strong look that reminded me of the 80’s .
