Ok here is a question. How often do you actually wear denim? 7 times per week? Or just occasionally, perhaps? What ever the answer, the chances are you are having more than one piece of denim in your wardrobe. Be it bottoms or tops, who wouldn’t like to wear it? So here are the good news. You don’t need to wear anymore just one piece of denim, because double denim is back, big time! Do you remember the times when double denim was a big “No No”? I do, very well. This trend comes and goes as it pleases and I am happy that I can enjoy it this autumn.
To pull of double denim however can be tricky. Wear it wrong and you will look like you got frozen few decades ago. But how to wear double denim and still look chic and current? Well, if you follow these 4 uber simple rules, you will be just fine 🙂
How to wear double denim
1. Never wear denim head to toe and nothing else. Always add at least one piece that is not from this fabric.
2. When it comes to fabric, always try to mix different texture and grammage of the denim.
3. Be cautious with colours. You can combine different shades of the same colour, but I would normally avoid different colour. Yellow-ish blue denim with crisp blue is not not my idea of pretty. However black and blue has a green light.
4. ALWAYS choose style that suits YOUR body shape, never choose anything just because it is currently trendy. Denim, especially when it comes to double denim, can be pretty unflattering when it doesn’t fit the figure.
