New season is slowly creeping up on us and it is time to have a look at the shoes we will most likely be wearing. Shoes are one of my small obsessions, probably like a lot of you. I am in a constant hunt for perfect shoes. They need to have the combination of best quality, comfort and design. I should probably stretch the comfort bit. With the lock down, most of us are looking for the comfort first, so flats are playing a major part this year. However, heels should never be forgotten. Even if you would wear them just for your date night in. So, while I am hunting for my perfect shoes, I want to talk about the biggest shoe trends for spring and summer.
5 sandal trends of spring summer 2020
“Be comfortable all day in slide on sandals”
Those of you who don’t like heels and want to be super comfy all day long without loosing the style, get the slide on sandals with two straps. You can now get them everywhere, even Chanel. Simply choose according to your budget.
“Minimalist design is the hottest trend”
Within the minimalist design, there are 3 different looks. Flip flops with heels, toe ring sandals and two straps sandals. This is definitely my favourite summer shoe trend and I wish this trend stays forever. I love the way your feet are are held only by super thin straps, yet they feel comfortable. I just bought these sandals and I am super happy about them. The heel is quite small and chunky so I will be able to walk in them a lot. I can’t wait to wear them outside after the lockdown will end.

Toe ring sandals
This is a new look and one that i really like. Toe ring sandals are fun and comfortable and you can wear them day or night. You know how your feel can swell in summer? So with the toe ring sandals you avoid any problems of your foot skin rubbing against the shoes. And they look great too. I love the way your feet are are held only by super thin straps, yet they feel comfortable. I just bought these sandals and I am super happy about them. The heel is quite small and chunky so I will be able to walk in them a lot. I can’t wait to wear them outside after the lockdown will end.
Two straps sandals
Sandals with two straps were already fashionable in the past, however this year they make come back. Honestly, I don’t know why they are not with us every year. They are definitely one of the most comfortable type of sandals. You can wear them day or night, with dresses, skirts or pants. They are basically one of the most wearable type of sandals out there.
“Brighten your day”
Oh you can’t imagine how happy I am about this trend. Many years now the shoe colours were rather dull I would say. Mainly, black and beige or brown. If you were lucky, you would find white and occasionally navy blue. Well unless, of course, you would be willing to spend several hundreds for one pair. I love how now you can brighten your day by wearing interesting colour shoes. They can make your whole outfit look more fun and interesting, don’t you think?
“Platforms are back”
I always loved platforms. The problem is I also almost broke a leg in them ( I actually broke a leg once just walking as my ankles wobble a bit when i walk). The problem is that you can’t feel the indifference in the surface you are walking on so you must completely depend on your posture and stable strides. The only shoes I am wearing with platforms are the espadrilles. At least their platforms are soft. So even though I like this trend, I think I will give is pass.
Mules are another type of sandals I love! There is nothing new about them, they are actually a little be 90’s but they work. They are sexy and comfortable and you can now find them in every price point. I have totally fell in love with these and these gold ones. Ok, maybe the golden mules with feathers are not totally simple but they are so pretty, don’t you think?
