How to wear a midi skirt. My style advice with 3 simple rules

Midi skirt can be one frightening piece of wardrobe to wear. Why? Because unless you choose the perfect one for your body shape, they will mess up your proportions. But again, if you are a supermodel, you don’t need to care, because on your body will look great everything (or nearly everything). So to make it less frightening for you, here are 3 key rules that will hopefully help you.

How to wear a midi skirt

1. Heels, heels, heels. The higher the better. Wear heels (unless you have endless, skinny legs) otherwise you will just look short. I can promise you that you will never see me wearing a midi skirt without heels. It is just never going to happen (I know, never say never, but really…NEVER).
2. Proportions. Wear something short with it (or tug things in). It will help you to prolong your figure. If you don’t have short enough top (or jacket), just try to wear a belt over it to clearly show where is your waist.
3. If you don’t want to look overdressed, choose the top and shoes a bit more edgy (leather jacket perhaps?), otherwise you can end up looking like you are going to a party.

I love the midi skirt I am wearing on the pictures, which I bought in Madrid recently. Even though I wasn’t sure about the fullness, when I put on the heels, I was happy with the result. Everything else I kept very simple, with the black sleeveless top and metallic leather jacket. I wanted to team it with a clutch for a change, as I don’t wear them very often and wanted a change. This Coccinelle python (not real python) seemed like a great idea. I have it for years and almost forgot I have it.

So with these simple rules I created a day to night outfit. For the office I would maybe switch the metallic jacket for blazer, but otherwise you can’t go wrong with this.
