Chelsea Flower Show 2018 highlights.

Chelsea flower show 2018 preview

The Chelsea flower show doesn’t need much of an introduction to English people. However, for those who don’t know, it is one of the top events in UK’s social calendar. Particularly its Gala pre-view opening, that happens the night before the show is opened to the public. Every year, the Chelsea flower show is also one of most visited events. No wonder though, as the best garden designers are showing their skills and competing for the gold medal.

People from all over UK are planning the visit months in advance as the tickets get sold out very fast.  This year it is between 22nd and 26th May and my husband and I were among the lucky ones to be invited to the Gala preview that happened last night.  This is the night when celebrities, top business people and politicians are invited to experience the gardens while networking.  And what a night it was.

What did I wear

We arrived at the Chelsea flower show shortly at 6.30pm after an hour of last minute decisions of what to wear. Don’t get me wrong. I planned my outfit very carefully; however, I also accidentally bought a new dress and couldn’t decide which one to wear. Finally, I chose to wear this new Sandro dress in baby blue with white Club Monaco blazer. As I knew that I would be walking quite a lot, I left my heels at home and opted for Alexander Wang wedges. Still not a great choice, as today I can’t bear the idea of heels of any sort. I accessorised it with a Chanel handbag.

The beauty of flowers and gardens

At the reception area we immediately got a glass of perfectly chilled champagne, had a few incredible canapes and went to explore the gardens with our host. I had never seen anything like this. The beauty of the garden was exacerbated up with an alluring mix of scents. This is the place where two of your senses, sight and smell are getting their share. Walking through the gardens, while sipping the champagne and admiring the colourful perfection, I felt bewitched. People looked very glamorous and the whole atmosphere was more of one’s wedding.Flower display at Chelsea flower show 2018 Chelsea flower show displays 2018 Garden display at Chelsea flower show 2018

I can’t possibly tell you how many gardens or flowers we saw, but I made loads of pictures to give you a little bit of a peek. Honestly, I was struggling with not taking any more pictures. Every single display was more than picture worthy. The thoughts and skills that go into this are astonishing. Well the Chelsea flower show is one of the most beautiful events and if you can’t go this year, make sure you can next time. It really is worth your while.Flowers at Chelsea flower show 2018 Beautiful roses at Chelsea flower show 2018 Petra Brisby from Chic Journal at the Chelsea flower show 2018
