I love skirts. However I find it difficult to find the ones that I feel comfortable in and want to wear them all the time. Also the styling is more difficult. When you wear a dress, you have the whole outfit ready. When you wear trousers, you can pretty much wear anything with them. But with a skirt? I need to think more as for me the proportions of the figure are always the priority when choosing clothes. Generally higher waist suits me better. So I was excited to find this Elisabetta Franchi faux leather skirt. There is nothing I don’t like about it. The length, the colour, the shape and the design. Tick all the boxes of the perfect midi skirt. And it made me happy I can style it with so many different tops and shoes. Simple beige skirt is one of those things you can wear basically all day long, for most of the occasions. Be it in your office, having a day of shopping by yourself or meeting your friends. It is classic, simple and super easy to combine. Most of the colours look amazing when combine with beige however I have three absolute winners. Black, blue and white. So if you have a beige midi skirt, this is how you can style it for different occasions.
Beige skirt for dinner date
Beige is a very easy colour to match and with black it looks amazingly elegant. This black shirt by Diane von Furstenberg is my favourite as it is simple yet the golden edges gives very elegant feeling. I teamed it with classic Chanel flap handbag and black and beige Carolina Herrera heels. I love wearing this combination mainly in the evening, for a nice dinner date with my husband.
Beige skirt for lunch with friends
Another colour that looks amazing with beige is white or off white. It creates very polished and clean look. Two tones that are close together create perfect symbiosis. So if neutrals are your thing, beige midi skirt and white top might be your winner for a lunch with your friends. I wore it with off white cashmere turtleneck sweater by John Lewis, Charlotte Olympia heels and beige Chanel boy bag in patent leather.
Peninsula hotels are one of the best in the world, with the branches in Tokyo, Shanghai, New York or Paris. Just recently we stayed in the Peninsula Paris hotel and Goodness me it was a pleasant stay. The hotel itself is very beautiful and I was surprised by how huge it is. As you know probably, in Paris every square metre is golden and just the lobby of this hotel is so big, you feel like you need to walk a fair bit to get across from reception over to concierge.
Location. The Peninsula Paris hotel is centrally located (Avenue Kleber). Well actually it depends what do you call “central”. You can walk 3 min to Arch de Triumph or 5 min to Champs Elysee or 10 min to Eiffel Tower. But if you want to see Louvre, Marais or Notre Dame, you need to walk quite a bit or take a taxi. As this is my favourite part of Paris, for me the location can’t be better.
Design is very contemporary with the art deco influence and clean lines. In the lobby the main feature is a massive and very modern chandelier, which looks like loads of glass leaves hanging leisurely from the ceiling. It definitely gives the place a wow factor.
Rooms are beautiful and spacious. The best thing about them is the valet box. I must say I never saw anything like it anywhere in the world. It is a little hidden “magic” cupboard you will find in your room. It serves for placing the laundry (so that someone will collect without you speaking or seeing anyone) as well as you will find your newspapers there every morning. We had a junior suite which was already generous with space, however the separate dressing room and entrance hall gave the room feel of a small apartment. Oscar de la Renta bathroom amenities and build in Espresso machine were just an icing on the cake.
There are several restaurants in The Peninsula Paris hotel. Le Lobby, an international and frech, where the breakfast is served and the design is very opulent with gold, glass and mirrors as main materials. Lili, the Cantonese restaurant which is absolutely excellent (I haven’t been in, but had a room service from it loved it). L’Oiseau Blanc which is on the rooftop of the hotel. That one is one is super romantic, with a view of Eiffel Tower and Montmartre. The decoration of this restaurant is inspired by aviation, particularly by Charles Nungesser and François Coli who attempted to cross the Atlantic in 1927 from Le Bourget. There is, in fact, a real plane hanging outside of the restaurant! The last one is the La Terrasse Kleber, the largest enclosed terrace in Paris serving snacks and small food throughout the whole day.
I am usually very fussy about service. But in The Peninsula Paris, the service is impeccable. Not overly friendly or personal, but extremely professional, helpful and knowledgeable.
Overall I think this hotel is truly amazing and would go back there in a heart beat. If you can’t decide whether to stay in uber luxurious Plaza Athenee (a Parisian classic, which I also love) or here, I would recommend you to try this one for sure.
And if you ever decide to go or you have already been, let me know what you do you think
White shirt is one of my staples of my wardrobe. It is an essential I tend to obsess about I always want to have at least one ready to put on any day. Maybe it is somehow like having a uniform you love to put on ever time you want to be comfortable and chic. I believe every woman should have them and if you are, by any chance, among those who still resist, maybe my reasons to buy one will get you on board.
Why you should get classic white shirt
There is nothing more simple than crisp white shirt and blue jeans. It it a timeless classic and it will always look chic and effortless. You can use it as your daily uniform.
If you are having a bit of a Monday blues or just simply don’t know what top to put on, such a shirt will never let you down. It goes with everything.
You can dress it up or down and you can wear it all day long from office to dinner date.
There are countless of styles and there isn’t a body shape it wouldn’t suit.
White colour always light up your face.
You can choose the looser fit, fitted, with ruffles and many more. On the pictures I am wearing classic shirt, with a bit loose fit with jeans with unfinished ends, both from Zara. These Gianvito Rossi suede simple pumps are one of my favourite for the day. The look the best with relaxed outfits. The silver leather jacket complete the whole chic look.
Oh Chanel and their creations. Always on the top of their game, with no fail. I am always so excited to see what is new. And this Chanel new collection is as beautiful as ever. If you are a Chanel fan, then this post is for you. You know with some brands, you can have favourite designs, but with Chanel? You got to love them all, don’t you thing? And have you already seen the new cruise collection? Some of the pieces are so beautiful it would make your heart pump faster with excitement. OK they are eye wateringly expensive, but hey, it is Chanel.
I may say that every year, but I think this year Chanel new collection is one of the most beautiful overall. The colours are bright and interesting. For example some bags feature lime green colour with shimmering silver undertone. Salmon pink seems to be one of the top colour used across the whole collection with different levels of richness. However even this salmon pink has some undertones of orange and blue or green as well. It goes really well with most of the colours of anyone’s wardrobe (which is very good news right?).
Chanel new collection
Anyway enough talking and lets have a look at the most beautiful pieces of the new collection. There are so many of them but I don’t have enough space to put them all here. However I have selected my top 20 absolute favourite pieces from the Chanel new collection, both cruise and summer. So sit back and enjoy.

So what do you think? Which one is your favourite, are you still drooling over the pictures?
There are trends and there are things that last no matter the year. That also applies to colour combinations. Do you remember the times when we all said “green and blue is good for a fool”? Or the same with pink and red or orange. And now? All these are considered amazing (God knows for how long). But there are colours that goes together like salt and pepper. Black and white for example, or black and gold. This season I am really into metallic and this black jacket with gold top is the one to go turn to when I go out.
The outfit I am wearing on the pictures is simple, but chic and elegant. Perfect for the dinner out. I am wearing the Sandro gold top. Now this top I bought about 8 years ago and I never ever worn it (not once) till this year. I don’t even know why. This year however it is one of my favourites. The trousers are from Liu:Jo and they are very comfortable. They are little bit like loose leggings. This year the stripes on the sides of the trousers are “in” so I get to wear them quite a bit.
The black jacket I bought recently in Madrid, when I went there for couple of days. I packed everything except jacket (or sweater) to wear for dinner. Thankfully Maje had this amazing double breasted piece (NOW ON 50% SALE HERE) so it was a quick purchase. Anyway, a dinner jacket was on my “shopping” list for a long time so it definitely was a win-win. And it fits like a glove. The boots. Oh these boots are one of my favourites. I also bought them in Madrid and they are from Pura Lopez. Her shoes are always stunning, elegant, great quality and at a good price. You can shop them online here (go for your true size). Classic Chanel bag was a great complement to the whole look.
This gold and black outfit is super easy to create. Black trousers and black jacket, gold top and lace up ankle boots. You can opt for either black or gold bag and you are good to go.
